Upland Bird Hunting Ambulatory Handicap Program. Inc.
The board members and officers of the Sam Konnie Memorial Upland Bird Hunting Program, Inc., will order, receive and deploy the wheelchair dollies. Trained volunteers will assist with on-the-spot conversion and restoration of chairs for normal use. Equipment will be stored and maintained at Bear Creek Pheasant Farm, LLC. Acquisition of three conversion sets will allow trained volunteers to set up two chairs and have two people hunting while another is being made ready to go. Temporary conversion of personal chairs will allow hunters to enjoy the comfort and safety of equipment already fitted to their personal needs. Volunteer assistants will work with hunters to pick routes and power dollies over uneven terrain during events, then restore chairs to normal function at the conclusion of the hunting/shooting experience.
This project qualifies in the "charitable" category because there will be no fee for qualified applicants for the equipment nor for the participation in events sponsored by this program.
